What it is
The Children's Safety Village is an interactive safety-education facility built on the Belleville Police Service property with the help of local businesses and private sponsors. It features small buildings, detailed roadways, traffic lights, an operational railway crossing, miniature vehicles, bicycles, and a safety classroom.
What children learn
Children combine classroom instruction with practical experience in the controlled environment of the miniature village. Programs cover pedestrian safety, road and street safety, fire safety, calling 911, and other life-saving skills, and serve youth from kindergarten through Grade 5 and up.
