What it is
The Key Holder Contact Program is a secure system that instantly provides relevant key holder information to police, so they can contact a business owner or a designated key holder during an incident at an unattended property. Details are held securely and made available only to authorized personnel, and only while dealing with an incident at your property.
Who can register
Registration is available to businesses within the City of Belleville. Residential properties are not eligible.
No cost
There is no cost for this program offered by the Belleville Police Service.
What a key holder agrees to do
When police make contact, a registered key holder is expected to:
- Attend the premises without delay with the property keys
- Make themselves known to officers and assist as necessary
- Deactivate alarms promptly
- Allow police to inspect the building
- Secure the property once police have cleared it
Key holders must remain contactable and able to attend the property within a reasonable amount of time.
