FAQs

Answers to common questions about applying for a career with the Belleville Police Service through the online careers portal.

Applying & your profile

I'd like to apply for a position. How do I apply?

Browse Current Opportunities and click Apply Now on any position of interest. You will then be required to complete your candidate profile. Complete the skills criteria section and answer several screening questions specific to that position.

How can I upload my resume?

You can upload your resume or other documents when you create a new profile or via the 'My Documents' page upon logging in. There are three ways to upload documents: using local files from your own operating system, using Dropbox online storage, or using Google Drive online storage.

Do I need to apply for a position to create a profile?

No, you do not need to apply for a specific position before creating a profile. Access the 'My Profile' page and follow the steps for creating or updating your profile.

Do I have to fill out a new profile each time I apply for a position?

Your profile is automatically linked every time you apply for a position, so you only have to fill it out once. However, you may update your profile at any time.

What will happen after I submit my application for a specific position?

Please allow some time for recruiters to review your application. Our team of recruiters will assess the applications received and will contact those applicants who are chosen for an interview.

Re-applying & eligibility

I recently applied to the Belleville Police Service, but wasn't successful in the process. When can I re-apply?

The Belleville Police Service does not have a minimum time period within which a candidate can re-apply.

I have military experience. Does this change my application process?

The BPS is a military-friendly employer. All current and past members of any military service, including Military Police, must apply through the Police Constable – New Recruit process, not as an Experienced Officer.

How can I stay informed about new career opportunities?

Subscribe to our 'Career Alert' and as soon as an opening matches your criteria, you will be notified by email with a link to view the opportunity. The career alert link will remain active for 90 days.
