Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1)
The Belleville Police Service has gone live with Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1), a modernized emergency system that brings faster and more accurate caller location, stronger reliability and cybersecurity, and an automated text-back capability. You still dial 9-1-1 in an emergency exactly as before.
Accessibility (T-9-1-1 / TTY)
People who are Deaf, hard of hearing, or speech-impaired can communicate with the Belleville Police Service communications centre through T-9-1-1 or a teletypewriter (TTY). Registration with your service provider is required beforehand.
VoIP phones
Not all VoIP services connect directly to 9-1-1. Give your VoIP provider an accurate physical address and keep a backup way to call for help.
