Auxiliary Program

The Auxiliary Program is made up of 15 active volunteers who provide support to the Belleville Police Service. Members assist with general patrol, the R.I.D.E. program, community events and emergency call-outs.

Volunteers take part in city-wide events including the Santa Claus parade, the Remembrance Day parade and the Waterfront Festival. Since its formation in 1985, the program has supported fundraising for initiatives such as the Torch Run.

Eligibility requirements

To apply to the Auxiliary Program, you must:

• Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Hold a Grade 12 graduation diploma or equivalent.
• Possess a valid Class G driver's license with a suitable driving record.
• Hold valid standard or emergency First Aid and CPR Level C certificates.
• Have no criminal record for which a pardon has not been received.
• Demonstrate good moral character and trustworthiness.

Applicants must submit a cover letter, a resume, and copies of diplomas and certifications.
