Impaired Driver
On January 23rd at 2:53am, Belleville Police responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision in the downtown area. Upon arrival, officers observed a vehicle that had struck a snowplow. Witnesses reported that the male driver exited the vehicle following the collision and fled the scene on foot.
Shortly after, officers located, arrested, and charged Vipishan Sureswaran, a 20-year-old Belleville man, with:
• Operation while impaired – alcohol
• Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80mg
• Dangerous operation
• Failure to stop after accident
He was released on an Undertaking with a scheduled court date in March.
