Intimate Partner Violence

On January 14th at 9:58pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s west end regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, it was reported a male attended the residence of a female, where a verbal argument escalated. During the incident, the male pushed the female.

As a result, a 37-year-old Belleville man was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in court in March.

Assault

On January 15th at 2:49am, Belleville Police responded to a business on Dundas Street East regarding a disturbance. It was reported that a male was refusing to leave the building and was threatening staff while holding a pair of scissors. Prior to police arrival, the male fled the area on foot.

As a result of investigation, officers located, arrested and charged a 32-year-old Belleville man of no fixed address with:

• Assault with a weapon X2

• Criminal Harassment

• Uttering threats

• Resist peace officer

• Fail to comply with a probation order X2

He was held for a bail hearing.
